Speak to mountains when you are facing an impossible crisis

Speaking to Mountains in Crisis

When we are in a Crisis or impossible seeming dilemna, the first thing we feel like doing is having a meltdown or nervous breakdown. It seems a total disaster when we get first bad news about something or even someone who is close to us.

Even though we want to pull out our hair and give up on life in these moments, we know that wont help us.,
In reality this is the time to do what Jesus and the Bible says we should do. Jesus said we need to speak to our mountains or circumstances and command them to be removed or cast into the sea!

Mark 11:23 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will]. AMP Bible

When we read this it seems outlandish and insane to the natural mind of man, because the things of the Spirit are foolishness to the natural mind. After all, we reason to ourselves, what rational person would expect a mountain or even an adverse circumstance to be removed or solved, by merely speaking to it. Yet this is what Jesus says we need to do.

We tell ourself that speaking to a mountainous problem or situation or even more so an inanimate object is ludicrous. That cant change anything we think. Yet Jesus says to do it. He also tells us that the power of our spoken words is immense.

AMPC Mark 11:24
For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].

The tongue has the power of life and deathand those who love it will eat its fruit. Prov 18:21

But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. Jesus in Matt 8:36

James 3: For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a [a]perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.
[b]Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body.
Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.
Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.

Yes, we usually underestimate the power of our tongues and the words we speak. Its amazing though how powerful our experience of solving our impossible problems will be if we willingly decide to do what Jesus and the Bible says to do.

The Scriptures also say that we should not be anxious or fearful when facing crisis situations., no matter how devastating they appear to be.

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4

Just yesterday I received a phone call ,that in the natural was meltdown material. I almost lost my cool but I applied the scriptural admonition and found that a great peace came over me.
The situation was also greatly mitigated by following Gods Word. Its amazing how supernatural Gods solution is if we will only use our words to speak to the mountain or problem.
Jesus says that we should first and foremost speak to the problem, no matter what it is. He doesnt say we should pray about the probelm, he says to speak directly to it and cast it out.

Practise this and you will grow in faith and Victory and see mighty blessings roll into your life!

If 6 was 9 you will mind

Back in the 1960s legendary guitarist and  musician Jimi Hendrix had a song called "If 6 was 9"
The lyrics included

If the sun refuse to shine,
I don't mind, I don't mind,
If the mountains fell in the sea,
let it be, it ain't me.
Alright, 'cos I got my own world to look through,
And I ain't gonna copy you.
Now if 6 turned out to be 9,
I don't mind, I don't mind,

Hendrix had some strong Christian roots from his childhood Gospel upbringing and some of his lyrics had Biblical imagery. He was spiritually aware of the importance of Jesus Christ in world Spiritual History. Of course he was also steeped in the whole 1960s psychedelic revolution and New Age theology. In fact along with the Beatles, Dylan and others he was recognized as one of the iconic ambassadors of this era.

The Bible speaks of people in the last days of earths history "Calling light darkness and darkness light" and "good will be called evil and evil good" (see scripture)

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  Isaiah 5:20

I also remember being in a library and reading a report that a friend of 60s Harvard professor and psychedelic guru Timothy Leary heard Leary crying out to God  and praying " But God I thought I was right, I thought I was right "( Leary was raised a Catholic and asked to attend mass and receive communion not long before his passing)

The often powerful and alluring spiritual experiences that many had when using psychedelic drugs were often very profound and often undermined any Christian worldview and foundational theology many had. Many embraced Eastern religious mysticism as a result of these experiences.

Hendrix had some experiences with Christ in his time of searching cosmology and mysticism. In fact the original title of Purple Haze included "Jesus saves". Of course the record company would not allow that title and demanded a change to title and lyrics.
It seems that Hendrix was trying to make some big changes to his life just prior to his death. He was sick of the wild man of drug binges and parties image he had. He wanted to be a serious and sober musician who could speak truth and love to the world. Only God knows the hearts of all men and our prayer is that Jimi made peace with God before his death.

The reality though is that for many  6 did turn out to 9 and what looked right initially turned out be a deceptive counterfeit path that led to a slippery slope into the nether realms.

There is a way that seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death. Proverbs 16:25

There is only one sure way to find the reality of Life and Eternity
Jesus said
“I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me"  John 14:6 AMP

PRESSING ON.

Often as I go through a day people will ask me "what are you doing today?"
My most usual answer I give is "Pressing On". One man said once to me "You always say that". I responded by saying "Well you asked me what Im doing and thats what Im above all doing."

Sometimes I say that I have a whole catalogue of activities Im proceeding with but basically Im pressing on to the higher calling of the Lord. Which I believe is the most important pursuit of our lives. Pursuing money, success, achievements, fitness, etc may all have a valid part in the overall jigsaw puzzle of life but ultimately the only pursuit that really counts for all Eternity is Pressing on in Jesus Christ for the Prize of the upward call of God in His Will. Read what St Paul below said to early Christians.

Phillipians 3:12  ASV Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect: but I press on, if so be that I may [e]lay hold on that for which also I was laid hold on by Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself [f]yet to have laid hold: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, 14 I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the [g]high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Oftentimes "Pressing On" can be difficult just like running a race in a powerful headwind on a rocky road or hiking a steep mountain and just progressing step by step or inch by inch. Sometimes we slip and slide down the face of the mountain and even suffer abrasions, wounds and discouragement but this only makes it more important to press on regardless of our circumstances.
Bob Dylan wrote a great song called Pressing On in the late 1970s during his Gospel/Christian period when he released a series of Biblical albums. In the song he emphasized the paramount goal of pressing toward the Higher Call of God. In another song, he sang, "I dont care how rough the road is , show me where it starts". He sang also of a young lady who warned him that, "You could die down here and be just another accident statistic" (He also said she was a backwoods girl but she sure was realistic) Thank God that He used this girl to get Bobs attention.

I once heard someone say that very few folks on their death bed wish they had spent more time at the office. How true, we must make pressing on in Gods plan and purpose our bottom line goal. After all this is all that counts when eternity looms into the picture. In the final analysis life is very short, even if we live 100 years. I am now 62 years old and it only seems like just the other day I was 15 years old just embarking on lifes journey. Now it shocks me to realize that in a few more short years I will be 70. I remember when 30 seemed like way over the hill. I recall reading in a magazine in about 1970 that Mick Jagger said he would stop singing rock and roll when he reached 30. The Stones are in about their mid 70s now and they will all still probably be singing live on walkers or wheelchairs in the end. Hopefully they will all have a revelation of Jesus Grace and change the lyrics to the song Satisfaction to "I can get satisfaction now"

Anyway this is just a short reminder of the importance of Pressing On in Jesus as He is the Way the Truth and the Life, no man can come to the Father but through Him. Once lifes short day is over and the endlessness of Eternity starts we will all be eternally grateful if we Press On in Him who is the Power of an Endless Life. He is Alpha and Omega and Omniscient Love Personified.

I pray that all who read this article will be filled with a the same Spirit of Love, Life and Grace that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Nothing fulfills the human heart like the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

Almost Omni---Gradual Boiling Point!

We are living in the most climactic period of human history. Some have said it is the most exciting time to be alive. Others say it is the most dangerous, both are correct in my estimation.
Never before has mankind been inundated and literally baptized in a huge flood of technological breakthroughs and gizmos. Today we see people consumed by their iphone or android crystal balls as it were. In the old Snow White story, it was the witch who consulted her mirror saying "Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is fairest of them all?"
Today people of all tribes kindreds and nations are consulting their handheld device saying "Google Google purveyor of all tell me the story of history and more!"
Everyone has something far more omniscient than a crystal ball in their pocket. In fact it contains all the images and stories and volumes of all libraries worldwide.  Imagine time traveling back to the 1960s and telling our grandparents that almost everyone carries all the information and history of all mankind, in their pocket in something smaller than a cigarette packet. They would never believe it. They would have maybe believed in flying cars by now (remember the 60s cartoon show of the futuristic Jetsons) We still dont have a flying car like George Jetson but we have instant access to all info and knowledge of all history on our person.
The concept of privacy is becoming more and more fictional. Immense databanks are now kept on file in cyber space, on almost every living human being on the planet. It seems more and more like Orwells "Brave New World" (only on steroids)
Many will recall the old story of the old frog who was boiled alive in a pot. The water temperature in the pot had gradually increased and he hadnt realized  it was boiling until it was too late. Sadly this is what is happening in our cultures today. Old ancient morals and landmarks have been thrown out for a "Newer enlightened approach that many celebrate as a great and transformational, sociological victory."
As one man said, the new morality is just the old immorality dressed in fancier clothing. What many today celebrate as  new freedoms, are really being seduced into a new powerful and deceptive form of tyranny of the masses, cultures and governments.
As an example, Jesus Christ was the greatest liberator of women from servitude and being considered 2nd Class citizens in history. Under the Old Testament legalism women were regarded as chattels and treated terribly. As Bob Dylan wrote in some lyrics on his Slow Train Coming album of 1978.
"You were drawing water for your husband, you were suffering under the law. You were talking about Buddha, talkin about Mohammed in one breath. You never mentioned one time the One who died a criminals death."
Today many western women (and men) are quick to embrace the validity of Islamic influence and customs. Yet the same women (and men)are quick to deny the validity of Biblical Christianity in the marketplace and public arena. This is tragic, as Christian defined cultures are the most enlightened, educated and prosperous on earth. (not to mention honoring of womanhood)
Some years back I wandered into a craft type store in Hobart Tasmania, I noticed as I entered that there was a large billboard type depiction of a US Naval Fleet in front of the store. There was a large warning of this fleet coming to an ocean near you. As if Hobart may have something to fear from the US Navy.
I wandered around checking out the wares and the lady started talking to me about how terrible the US Fleet was. I asked her would she prefer alliance from a democratic type culture like America or would Sharia law be preferable for women like her. She failed to answer me on this.
Of course, I am not saying that America, England, Australia, New Zealand or Canada dont have their faults. I also am aware of the huge wave of decadence that has swamped western nations in recent decades! But they are still preferable systems to many others on the earth.
The problem with Western people today they are more likely to honor the religions and spiritual values of other tribes, peoples and nations than their own. Many today, minimize, marginalise and even demonize their own roots of Christian teaching, values and morals. Our grandparents would never have believed it could happen!
Those who Stand for Nothing, Fall for Anything. Jesus will put a backbone into people who only have a wishbone!

John 8:32King James Version (KJV)

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

America

America has traditionally been an amazing country that rose to be probably the most powerful and admired (also envied) nation in world History. (Of course, when it comes to a Multi National Empire, Britain was gigantic also)

I read somewhere that a French sociologist came to America in 1831 on a quest to discover the secret of US greatness, (even then) He is reputed to have written that he researched her wondrous universities, hospitals, agricultural and industrial achievements and work ethic. He also spent time considering the beauty and richness of her lands and natural endowments. This sociologist was impressed by all of America’s attitudes, ethics, educational institutions and creative energies.

He came to the conclusion that the thing that showed the secret of her increases and blessings most intensively, was the thundering power and impact of her preachers and the flaming righteousness of her churches. He is believed to have said that his ultimate finding was this: He realized that the key to her vast success and achievements in world shaking prominence was not in her educational opportunities, commerce, agriculture, creativity, energy, work ethic or brilliance.

He is claimed to have said, "America is great is because America is good, if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great!"

Fast forward now---Here we are, midway through the second decade of the 21st Century and most thinking, questioning scholars have reached the conclusion that America’s world image is somewhat tarnished at best. Her colossal moral impact and greatness and exceptional economic power have been eroded and compromised.

Even more significantly, America has lost lots of her moral clarity and foundational Biblical values to a large degree. The USA always represented (particularly since Britain’s decline after WW2) a nation that strongly stood for Judeo/Christian morals and values. This furnished her with a deep bedrock foundation that has guided her through many storms, economic, military and otherwise. Many believe it was her Christian (and Judeo) foundations that caused her exaltation to amazing world dominance in the 20th century.

There was a point in the late 1950s and early 1960s that America had less than 5% of the world population yet had over 95% of the world’s wealth. In those days America was largely self sufficient and did not really need imports or exports, to thrive as a gigantic economic and military colossus.

Everything was made here, and sold here and there was a mega economy, independent of what the rest of the world did.
The economy boomed, the middle class flourished and thrived, as in no other nation in history.

Sadly, times have changed; there has been a seismic shift in American values, morals and foundational Spiritual compass. America once stood tall as showing True North Spiritual morality to the rest of the world. It is no accident that she and her President have been called the leader of the Free World. America stood for political freedom, economic freedom, Spiritual freedom and Moral freedom. (Amazing that the world’s favorite comic book superhero was Superman, who stood for Truth, Justice and the American Way)

Today, many are saying that America is not the America it once was and consequently she is not as blessed as she once was.  Poor national decisions at every level have been made, also millions of individuals are doing their own thing and getting bogged in swamp lands far from the mainstream of time honored Truth. Multitudes believe she needs to embrace her former Rock Solid Spiritual Values and Ethics so she can again rise to greatness. It is interesting that over 10% of the Chinese population are now passionate evangelical Christians and many business and professional leaders are Christian. It is said that even the communist hierarchy, recognize the economic and social positives that Christians bring to China.

Yes, America still loves her flag, the Stars and Stripes, or Old Glory. But we must realize it is not the flag that makes the people great, it is the people that made the flag great. I saw one man with at least 4 or 5 flags flying from his car, as if this was what made him a patriot. If we want the flag to mean what it once meant, we must return and become the people again that made that flag, the amazing symbol of freedom that it is.

Remember though, the symbol of freedom is not what brings true freedom, it is through the substance, spirit, belief system and lifestyle of people that Freedom prevails, not the flag. You could put a 2015 BMW emblem on a 1962 Volkswagen beetle and it would not change what the car is. The emblems of a luxury car mean nothing. It is the cars true manufacturing and engineering standards and track record that matter; Emblems don’t make the car, the car must dictate the emblems symbolic quality and performance.

Somebody once said you could probably do plastic surgery on a mules ears and deck him out in racing colors and he may look like a race horse but when he races against true racing thoroughbreds, his performance will expose he is a mule.

How true, we must become the kind of people that will make our nation great, wherever we live on the globe.

The Joy Of the Lord is our Strength

Just today I received an amazing letter from a minister I have loved and respected for almost 40 years.
In it he was reiterating the importance of the Word of God and how it must enter our ears our eyes and hearts. He was stressing that we must allow the Word absolute priority in our lives if we ever want to experience the Victory over all the negative impacts that the world, the flesh and the devil have incurred in this life.

Of course this is no new fangled, fancy revelation that has just come down the track. This is as old as God Himself and it is still the only reality that produces faith and joy that empowers us to overcome fear, sorrow and hopelessness.

The wonderful thing about the Father, Son and Holy Ghost is that they have never changed throughout the endless aeons of Eternity. Jesus is more constant than the Sun or stars that shine in the heavens, After all, He created them as demonstrations of His constant Artistic Glory. This why He is often called the Rock of Ages.
God never changes, He will always be Pure Endless Love that became a man called Jesus in order to personally demonstrate His Grace, Love, Joy and Character to us.

John 1: 10-13 (Phillips NT))He came into the world—the world he had created—and the world failed to recognise him. He came into his own creation, and his own people would not accept him. Yet wherever men did accept him he gave them the power to become sons of God. These were the men who truly believed in him, and their birth depended not on the course of nature nor on any impulse or plan of man, but on God.

14-18 So the word of God became a human being and lived among us. We saw his splendour (the splendour as of a father’s only son), full of grace and truth.

Whenever we feel weak, joyless, defeated, old or useless, we must check the word level in our hearts and lives. In a car, it is customary to check the oil level on the dipstick, to make sure there is sufficient lubrication to allow the engine and pistons to operate in smooth ease.
The same is true for a man or woman. We must ensure that The Word of God is producing the correct Faith that produces the Oil Of Joy that lubricates the spiritual system of our inner beings. This is not meant to be a cute little analogy, rather it is absolutely true.

Many people sadly try to substitute the Word of God (which is the only Manufacturers endorsed Fuel for Life) with so called recreational drugs or alcohol, or even overuse of food or other good things which can be used as desperate fuel alternatives to try to receive strength to cope with lifes sufferings.
Of course there are many addictions that can develop in the wrongly directed search for Joy to Live.
One man talking about heroin, which most people recognize as absolutely a terrible fuel to use, said "It wasnt the answer but it made me forget what the question was".

The Good News is that God has given us the most awesome clean burning Word Fuel of Faith, Strength and Joy. This Fuel will cause us to fly to undreamed of Altitudes into the "Secret Place of the Most High" where we can "Abide under the Shadow of the Almighty" and "Dwell in His Pavilion". Of course the best Worship songs are Word based which allow us to: "Make melody in our Hearts" and:

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Many of the young people (now older) who became believers during the Jesus Movement (late 60s- 70s) were often from the alternative, spiritual, hippy background of marijuana/psychedelic experimentation. Many of the people who were searching back then and had amazing encounters with Jesus (The Word made Flesh) sometimes said "We get the Most High with the Most High".

In fact a great friend of mine who is also a powerful man of God and brilliant prophetic songwriter/guitarist (not to mention a wonderful dentist) wrote a powerful song entitled "Most High with the Most High"

Of course the Jesus people who had this deep scintillating encounter with the Lord, discontinued their drug experimentation and found the Joy Fuel they were always thirsting for in the "Word made Flesh--Jesus"

The thing is, you dont just come to Jesus and you are fueled forever. Its takes being a true disciple of Jesus to live in His Daily Joy and Presence. This means hearing, reading and speaking The Word of God which produces world overcoming Joy or Strength!

When I was a young Christian in late 1977, I was standing on Bondi Beach in Australia one day and complaining to Him that I was in a bad trial of my faith. I felt depressed, empty, lonely and tempted to go back and refuel with my old habits.

The Lord reminded me that in order to experience being intoxicated on alcohol or other things, one has to actually purchase the product and drink or smoke it. He said a reasonable person would not expect to experience intoxication on a regular basis without making it a regular habit.

In the same way He impressed me it would be foolish to expect to experience His Grace, Love and Joy without receiving or imbibing His Word and Presence into the eyes, ears and spiritual system. The analogy of getting a suntan came to mind also, it would be dumb to expect to get a suntan lying on your living room floor. (I knew a drummer who tried this, it didnt work)

It takes getting into the sunshine with your clothes off to get a tan. Getting a daily impartation from God means getting daily exposure of His Sonshine into your mind and heart. This doesnt happen by spacing out trying to think about Him. It takes reading, hearing, speaking the Word in Song and Meditation. Then you can "think" about Him and receive his thoughts and Joy!

Nehemiah 8:10 Neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Philippians 4 (Message Bible)
8-9 Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
